Status Functionality already exists

Bulk/batch updating via the UI (as opposed to data import via application or MIF)

We are still in v7.6.1.2 so maybe this functionality exists in MAS 8? If not, we would like another alternative to batch updates within the standard Maximo UI (not existing data import functionality via application import or MIF). We currently handle all bulk/batch updates via oob functionality. What we are looking for is a more user-friendly way with less steps and does not involve flat files. For example, in the Asset application if I wanted to change the value of 5 different fields for 1,000 asset records that I filtered on (i.e. siteid = 'XXX' and status = 'YYY') on the List tab, somehow I can just enter the new values for the 5 fields, push an "Update" button, and before the updates actually are executed, the update action would be sent to an approver who reviews the batch update and clicks "Approve" and then the 1,000 asset records would be updated accordingly.

    Hi Lisa,
I received this email on Friday last week but there is no comment from IBM on the status of this. So when I logged into the Ideas Portal, I noticed Functionality already exists. Was that a comment that you added to this idea submission? If yes, which application(s) in Maximo 7.6.1.2 already have this functionality?

Dave, Rod, including you, per the email I sent earlier on this topic.

    Thank you,

    Meg

Hi, can you elaborate on how the functionality already exists? Which application(s) in Maximo 7.6.1.2 already has this functionality?
