Selling Historical Forecasts

We currently do not have the means to send historical forecasts to customers at scale. We also do not have the ability to sell historical forecasts.

We recently lost a deal with historical forecasts being the primary reason. Below you will find feedback from the customer, GELI - Q Cells, who was interested in weather data for a solar load forecasting model. This is not the first time we lost a deal due to not being able to offer historical forecasts. I would like to propose an API that could be made available in EIS offering this capability.

"We’ve completed our analysis and decided to go with another provider. On the data accuracy and completeness, IBM was almost neck and neck with one other vendor. The limited horizon on IBM’s historical forecast was a problem for the data science team. Cost was a big factor. The provider we chose had a comprehensive DB of historical forecasts with uniform time horizons, and they were easy to roll into their API package for us."

This comes up often with clients. Some data is available (Peter Neilley's Archive). How can we make this available? Should we engage a partner in doing so?
