[ELM]: Block REST api access to unhautorized users

Hello,

ELM is a complex information systems which needs to be controlled to avoid:

  • issues on the data (skipped resources, missing uri, validation,...)
  • unexpected data CRUD operation
  • cyber constraint
  • ...

Everyone can have access to the REST api and make custom application/script to manage operations. However, these programs are not controlled and/or validated so we don't know what can be the impacts on the system.

Our need is to block by the default the access to the ELM REST api to every users and provide a mechanism to authorized some users.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding, it does not fit our near-term plans. Currently, limiting access to project functionality is regulated through the use of role-based permissions.

    Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository.  We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
