GCM historical baselines

Creation of historical baselines are available for a local DOORS NG stream in version 7.1.0 SR1, not for entire Global Configuration hierarchy from GCM WebUI.
Business users would like to have this feature implemented there, too.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding, this is a valid idea but due to its implementation complexities and other priorities, it does not fit our 18-24 month plans. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and you can request to reopen idea after this time. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.

Please see the comment from the users wishing to have this feature in the application:
"We have built-up our projects in a hierarchical manner (system, subsystem, component, etc…) as well as cross-project documentation reuse for certain interfaces and other modules.
Therefore, we usually prefer to make Global-baselines (which, in fact also create local baselines in all streams of a global configuration). But it allows to also save a “screenshot” of all the links to other components/streams.
So, when a historical baseline comes in handy (in a local way) it would do so for us as a historical global baseline. For example, when we want to branch streams from a point-in-time in the past in a global configuration context.
I would just expect the same feature, regardless of whether I chose a local or a global baseline."

Thank you for submitting idea. IBM Engineering team review board evaluated this request and determined it will need additional information to evaluate this request.

You are correct that DOORS Next 7.1 has delivered a new feature to create a baseline in the past. The same has been delivered for ETM 7.2. Hence, we want to understand what your expectations are for the GCM historical baselines. Could you elaborate details, ideally with the use case?
