AI-Powered Monitoring and Notification Agent for IBM ELM JTS Active Services

Long-running active services can negatively affect the performance and availability of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) environments. These services may include complex artifact searches, report generation, OSLC queries, bulk operations, and other resource-intensive requests.

At present, administrators must manually review the Jazz Team Server (JTS) Active Services dashboard to identify services that are running longer than expected. This reactive approach requires ongoing administrative effort and may delay the detection of operations that are consuming excessive system resources.

The proposed solution is an AI-powered monitoring agent that would:

  • Continuously monitor active services across the ELM environment.
  • Detect services that exceed expected execution times or exhibit abnormal behavior.
  • Assess the potential impact on system performance and availability.
  • Identify the user who initiated the operation.
  • Notify the initiating user and the support team by email.
  • Provide relevant diagnostic details to support further investigation.

This proactive monitoring capability would reduce the need for manual oversight, enable faster intervention, minimize the impact of resource-intensive operations, and improve both system performance and user experience.
