Managing automatic links in work items fields

LinkDetector process let any string in work items containing keywords like 'defect 1234' or 'story 5678' to become a link towards dedicated work item. This can really be a very annoying feature when reference is unvolontary or is outside RTC perimeter

    EWM Ideas review board has evaluated this request and decided to keep it on the Backlog as an uncommitted candidate for a future release.

    The EWM team would like some additional information about the request to reconsider it:
    1. Do you want the option to edit work item aliases? If yes, there is already some control over what will get auto-linked by removing any aliases from types and attributes that are giving you issues.
    2. Do you want to be able to create a global ???blacklist" that will apply to all auto-linking (which would be able to override the work item ID). If yes, do you only care about work item link types, or would you like to stop comment # auto-linking, the @ user auto-linking, the url auto-linking, etc
    3. Do you want to be able to turn off auto-linking of everything for a project area, or a repository?

    - Are you looking for disabling the link detection completely or being any to filter out some keywords from the link detection?
