EWM Source: buildtoolkit / build integratio nshould only request another build if build queue is empty

The current situation is, the if you have a schedule enabled for a build definition the build starts either after a certain period of time or only at a specific time/date. Unfortunately there is no possibility to automatically run a build if a new changeset got applied, so it is necessary to start the build job periodically after a small set of minutes including the option to "accept latest changes before build" and / "build only if there are changes accepted". In this case it might happen, that a build is triggered to build even if another build is currently processed - or - another build is already triggered but got not processed due to no build resources available. This results in multiple stale/aborted build results as all triggered builds try to build as soon as the resources are unavailable. For this it would be really great if builds are only triggered automatically if the build queue is empty! It makes no sence to trigger multiple builds for the same changesets.

EWM RFE review board has evaluated this request. This request, while valid, is unlikely to be addressed in the next 18-24 months due to other higher priority items on the Backlog. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may be reassessed or reopened for additional discussion in the future.
