Inheritance of Roles from Project Area to Team Area does not work as expected

If you Create a Project Area and inside some Team Areas with restricted visibility and permissions, the members of the Project Area will not have access to the Team areas. This is correct because the Team Area has restricted visibility and permissions.

But if a member of the Project Area is added to a Team Area inside of it,

this member will by surprise get upgraded inside the Team Area to all his Roles of the Project Area . There is no way to manage his permissions inside the Team Area. Even more: the shown roles and permissions inside the Team Area are wrong!

It should be possible to manage the need to know within Team Areas by roles and permissions.

Thank you for providing this recommendation. The behavior you describe follows the appropriate behavior based on how permissions are provided to a user across projects, teams, and sub-teams. In this case, as a team member the person with project area permissions will have those project permissions in a team they're assigned to. Assigning that person a role in the team area will apply those team permissions (and other behavior) to the new team member. We are closing this item because it's possible to assign team level behavior to someone who also has project roles.
These two articles should provide insight into how permissions (and behavior) are determined for people who belong to projects with teams and sub-teams:
