Would like better integration between EWM Source Control and Microsoft office: in particular, use of WEBDAV

There is currently a very weak or even no integration possibility between Microsoft Office toolset (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, etc...) and the Jazz/RTC/EWM Source Control. We would like to have an integration where it would be possible to directly do checkin & deliver of Office files from Office, and also to avoid to have multiple dialog boxes & steps to be done if doing that scenario from the Jazz/EWM Web-Interface. Currently, you need to make multiple steps from the RTC-Web-place so to get the files, modify it, and put it back over checkin/deliver

    We have carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding of it, do not plan to support direct checkin & deliver of Office files from Office into Jazz SCM/WebDAV. Our direction will be to support source control of Office documents using the EWM Windows Shell integration from within Windows Explorer (initial support in Windows 7). Although we are closing this request, please open a new RFE to share feedback on how we can improve the experience (simply workflow) of doing this using the Shell integration. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.

    As a large Customer with thousands of users,. many working with Office documents, this request is very important. We have to have Office documents under version control to be compliant and audit safe.
