I'm looking at the exact same feature as clearmake (IBM Rational ClearCase) provided with the config record of a build.
Currently, with the build log, we have nothing for Visual Studio build and lack of information for some other builds.
We never have the version of files used during the build.
Are you looking for a Bill of materials tab in the build results editor? The information for that tab can be provided by the user during the build like OS environment variables, tool paths, versions etc and others can be obtained from the build system like snapshot, build properties.
The requested enhancement is very broad in scope. Currently, the build snapshot captures the versions of files used in the build. Tool paths, versions of those tools and environment variables can be added to the build result as an attachment.
Could you be more specific about the feature being requested? A breakdown of the requirements would help.
