Update 2026 from the Jazz France user group
Context: Today, we are using EWM to manage our source code. To ensure traceability and to be compliant with ISO 9001 / EN9100, we need to create version description document which allow us to identify the version that we are delivering to our customer. We are providing the baselines and the snapshots.
Problem: To ensure unicity, we are providing the UUID of the snapshot/baseline of each component. We can’t provide the name as it can be modified by a user after a delivery. Before 7.0.2, we add an option to get the UUID from the EWM client but it disappears now. We need to copy paste the URL of the element and get manually the UUIS which can cause a risk to miss characters.
Impact: Loss of time to find the right information with a risk of error during the copy
Goal of the idea: Have an option to get the UUID easily.
Why it is useful ?: It will allow to get the unique identifier of each elements.
How should it work ?: From a baseline or snapshot on EWM Eclipse client or Web, we click on an option to get the UUID
The "copy URL" option needs to paste the result to see the UUID. It is not user friendly enough compare to the action "properties" which displayed the result in a wizard without having to change of page.
