Extend "Code Reivew" to non-ASCII files like MS Office, PDF, etc.

Code review is a great tool for someone to review and comment on artifacts prior to delivery of the changes to the stream. However, it currently only works with ASCII files. Many of the files we need to create are MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and PDFs that also should be subject to a review before delivering to the stream. However, at the moment, anyone following the link to the code review is presented with "Unsupported MIME type" and no way of being able to just download the file or view it in the broswer even without the side by side comparison.


This could be helped in two stages:

  1. Provide the option to either browser render the file, or download the file for review from the Code Review UI (not currently possible).

  2. Present the files in the side by side version comparison similar to how the ASCII files are currently arranged.

    please can you clarify the workflow for using Work Item approval for MS office docs saved in EWM SCM?

    EWM RFE review board has evaluated this request. This request is being rejected because as the name suggests the code review tool is intended to handle only 'code'. It is recommended to use the work item approval for non-ASCII files.
