User management across all project areas for all applications (not just RTC)

When creating this idea it shows in the list of products provided - there is more thought needed to manage the entire ELM system instead of only at each application.

I spend too much of my time managing users. There is no way to manage users across projects areas and applications. We will likely build this as a separate application to save much wasted effort on user management.

It would be very very helpful to have an administrative console for the entire ELM toolset that could manage users across project areas and applications. We have engineers that work on many projects and need access to all of the applications. To add one user to many project areas takes many mouse clicks that could be saved.

The Lifecycle Project is limited to only those project areas created in that Lifecycle project. Typically this would be for one particular program. However, our company and most likely many companied have people working across multiple programs. For example if a new person comes on board as a new safety engineer, that person may work on 6 different projects. Adding this user across all these projects is time consuming. Also, the lifecycle project does not appear to be able to choose different roles for each project area which is critical. In addition usually only an admin like myself can manage the lifecycle project which means the teams have to make requests to the admin instead of the team handling this.

If there was a separate user administration console working across project areas this would be much more useful in real life than the Lifecycle Project which is very limited.

    Thanks.

ELM's Lifecycle Project Administration appears to provide much of the functionality you're asking for. Please see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/elm/7.0.3?topic=projects-getting-started-project-areas-lifecycle for information about lifecycle project management and feel free to submit a new Idea if you'd like to see more cross-application project functionality.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding, it does not fit our near-term plans. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository.  We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
