EWM_SCM Shell / Eclipse Client: load repository into sandbox: select subfolder(s) of a component to be loaded, but complete path from component to subfolder should be created

Hello IBM Jazz EWM_SCM Shell / Eclipse Client Admins / Developers,

from several of our users we got this request.

Current situation: When loading a workspace and "browsing components to select folders to be loaded", then the selected folder(s) are copied to the local disk with their names directly under the sandbox location. Disadvantage: the directory structure is lost, and it is hard to see, to which component the folders belong originally.

Improvement Request: Please offer an option in the EWM_SCM Shell / Eclipse Client, so that the complete directory path from the component until the selected folders automatically is created by the EWM_SCM Shell / Eclipse Client.

    The EWM Ideas review board has evaluated this request. It is possible to achieve this behavior in the Eclipse and VS client using "Load As" operation on the folder from Repository Browser. However the Repository Browser is not available in the Shell client intentionally as it was primarily meant to focus on basic scenarios to cater more to the non-developers.

    This request, while valid, is unlikely to be addressed in the next 18-24 months due to other higher priority items on the Backlog. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may be reassessed or reopened for additional discussion in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
