Shape the future of IBM!

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Permissions behavior with EWM in Linux

For example, I have a script in Linux with permissions of 755. I checked it in, Steve accepted my change, and on his side he does not have the same permissions. It appears that RTC only saves one set of permissions, I assume the "public" permission? I see an "Enhancement" request was made against this shortcoming back in 2011 followed by 10 years of comments from unhappy clients experiencing the same wiping of umask permissions on *nix systems. Many consider this a defect, but at the time Jazz refused to do anything about it and it was closed with no change. Any chance they've done something about this? https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=161875

The EWM Ideas review board has evaluated this request. This request, while valid, is unlikely to be addressed in the next 18-24 months due to other higher priority items on the Backlog. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may be reassessed or reopened for additional discussion in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
