Auto Fill Child work item attributes

Auto fill different attributes to match the parent's same attribute. For example, any stories or tasks under an epic with "Applicable Program" filled out should automatically populate the "Applicable Program" attribute at story and task level. This will aid in creating reports to understand how much time is spent on programs since time spent is tracked at the story and task level.

(Note from me: We're probably going to suggest that multiple related attributes have the ability to be auto filled for child work items, not just applicable programs. It'll probably be similar to copying a work item.)

The EWM Ideas Review board looked at this request and decided to keep it on the Backlog as an uncommitted candidate for a future release.

Hello, I'm sorry, I should've made this clear in my original post (this request is from one or our users, and I forgot to edit it when posting it). The Applicable Programs field we're using is an Enumeration List, so it looks like he'd at the very least like for some Enumeration List fields to be auto populated when creating child work items.

Currently, attribute values for system attributes like 'Filed Against' and 'Planned For' are inherited when you create a child work item using the 'create child work item' option in a plan or from the work item editor. The attribute "Applicable Program" mentioned in the description of the Idea looks like a custom attribute. We would like to better understand what the work item type of 'Applicable Program' is and/or the work item types that you would like inheritance to work. This will help us assess the request better. Thanks.
