Users should only be able to view or locate another user if that user is part of a project area for which they have read access.

In IBM EWM, users can create multiple Project Areas, each with distinct access control levels.

Currently, it is possible to assign users outside a Project Area as Work Item owners, even if they lack access to the Work Item. In such cases, the following warning message is displayed: "Owner does not belong to Team Area."

The proposal of this Idea is to restrict the ability to assign users without access to the Project Area as Work Item owners.

The EWM Ideas review board has reviewed this request and requires additional information about the request. If the user does not have access to the project area, they will still not be able to see the work item inspite of being the owner. If the owner is not part of the project area, e-mail and feeds are not sent. Also, while populating the owner via the people picker, only the members of the project area are shown. Pl. can you scope the interface/client from which restriction is being requested?
