IBM Sustainability Software - Ideas Portal

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

API flag for muting update notifications / mails

When using custom scripts to make changes via the API this is otherwise treated as a normal update and causes update notifications / mails to be send out to subscribing users.

In case of mass API changes you do not always want that. Other project management / ticket management products offer options to disable notifications on a per request basis. ELM should also support this.

The EWM Ideas Review board looked at this request and decided to keep it on the Backlog with the scope of providing OSLC APIS for work items only as an uncommitted candidate for a future release.

I understand that the ask is to support this in OSLC APIs. Pl. can you confirm if this request is limited to EWM work items and not other artifacts that have email notifications, such as: builds, code review, etc. Thank you for taking the time to provide clarifications.

The EWM Ideas Review board looked at this request and needs additional details. In our opinion, this is currently possible via
com.ibm.team.workitem.service.IWorkItemServer.saveWorkItem3(IWorkItem, IWorkItemReferences, String, Set<String>). We request you to try the recommended API and share if the requirement is met in the next 2 - 3 weeks. If the API does not meet the requirement, pl. share details on the expectation and the gap.
