RELATED IDEAS

Allow to limit the number of items queried and returned by the reportable REST API in order to prevent OOM crashes

Situation
Every user can create and use the REST API to get a result set with millions of items.
In the browser GUI  the query result items are limited and paged, using the REST API it is possible to query everything at once.

These queries put a lot of load on the database and sometimes consume all available memory leading to OOM messages and crashes.

Proposal
Make the queries via the REST API also use limits and paging.

    The EWM Ideas review board has evaluated this request. This request is being rejected, because we want REST APIs to be open and expect users of the APIs to make sure to set limits to prevent OOM crashes.
