Prevent date type field to allow saving years with 3 digits. - Design Defect

Using IBM EWM, users can save date and time fields where the year contains only three digits. (e.g., changing 2025 to 202), the system still allows saving the work item. This results in an invalid date being stored.

Steps to Reproduce
Open a work item with an out of the box due date field (eg. due date in the Task WI type)
Select a valid date (e.g., Sep 17, 2025 12:00:00 PM).
Delete the last digit of the year so it becomes Sep 17, 202 12:00:00 PM.
Save the work item.

Observed Behavior
The work item saves successfully with an incomplete year (202).
Issue confirmed using an out-of-the-box template, so it is not project-specific.

Expected Behavior
The system should validate the date format and prevent saving if the year is incomplete or invalid.

After further investigation, IBM determined that this behavior is a design defect, which has been prioritized for correction in a future release.

    The EWM Ideas Review board looked at this request and decided to keep it on the Backlog as an uncommitted candidate for a future release. In the interim, you are requested to use a client-side validation script to avoid saving work items with incorrect values as a workaround.
