Support Multiple Jazz Connections in the EWM VS Code Extension

Context:

Developers and consultants often work with multiple Jazz repositories across environments, or projects. Switching between repositories is a common activity in daily work.

 

Problem:

The EWM VS Code extension only supports a single Jazz connection at a time. Users who need to work with multiple repositories must repeatedly disconnect and reconnect, disrupting their workflow.

 

Impact:

This limitation reduces productivity, complicates multi-project work, and creates friction for users who support multiple teams, or environments.

 

Goal of the Idea:

Allow users to manage and switch between multiple Jazz repository connections directly within the VS Code extension.

 

Why is it Useful?:

 

Improves developer productivity.

Simplifies work across multiple repositories and environments.

Reduces connection management overhead.

Improves the overall VS Code user experience.

Encourages adoption of modern development workflows and AI-powered assistants such as Bob.

 

How Should it Work?:

Allow users to define and save multiple Jazz connections within the extension. Provide a connection selector to quickly switch between repositories and optionally support simultaneous connections to multiple Jazz servers.
