To allow from RPE the identification of the direction of the Synonym link used in RM

Hi,

We are using the default Synonym link type in RM application to link artifacts allocated in different project areas. For this default link, the ingoing and the outgoing links have the same name: "Synonym". In addition, we use this link type for ingoing and outgoing links.

However, we have started to create RPE templates, and we have noticed that it is not possible to identify the direction of the "Synonym" link as the RPE uses the name of the link to get the direction of the link and the name is the same for both directions.

We propose to apply at least one of the next options:

  1. To allow the possibility of editing the default "Synonym" link to change the names and URIs without losing the current links. For the moment, these properties are not editable.

  2. To include any additional property or feature in RPE in order to allow the differentiation of the link direction.

Thanks in advance.

This request is moved to the DOORS Next team as REST API do not provide "Synonym" link direction, a pre-requisite for Publishing to display direction.
