Project Areas for Document Builder

As an Application administrator I want to organize Document Builder in projects areas  so I can manage user access or create team areas like other Jazz Applications (RM, ETM, EWM, ...)

Context : When using Document Builder I have to configure a publication project for a dedicated project team

Problem :  In Document Builder reports are shared to every Jazz users

Impact :  Users have to find their own reports among others, loosing time and energy

Goal of the idea : restrict the report list within a project context using project areas and project teams

Why is it useful ? it helps focusing on specific publication projects

How should it work ?  Within Document Builder in an administration tag, create project area. Then assign users and create project teams

    Hello,

This idea is more about 'Team/user permission,' correct?
I understood you are thinking about folders to organize the reports, and manage permissions of this folders. Is it?

    Hi,
The idea is not to have documents on a single project area (I agree with you that it is really powerful to have cross PAs documents), but to have "Document Builder Project Areas" to manage the reports themselves, who access them (the reports, the canvas, the templates..., not the project areas), the same way as for RT, TM, EWM, GC...

Today, the reports accesses are managed for every report, with individuals, which is not easy to manage large teams

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding, it is not aligned how reporting is structured. Report Builder reports can be developed to be used across different project areas and having a report for only a single project area is not aligned with the IBM Engineering reporting. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
