Requesting the option to edit requirement attributes in Rhapsody.

Hi Team,

Open the RMM-enabled model in Rhapsody and log in to the DOORS module. Load all collections, then open the 'Remote Requirements Table'.

Currently, when trying to edit attributes such as description, specification, comments, etc., for a specific requirement ID from Rhapsody, editing is not available.

We would like to edit attribute values of the requirement in Rhapsody, which will then be pushed back into an attribute in DOORS.

Please provide an option to edit requirement attributes in Rhapsody.

Regards,

Suhasini

    Hi,

This request to enable editing of requirements directly from the modeling tool has been raised multiple times.

However, this approach does not align with the foundational principles of the Digital Thread,
particularly the concept of maintaining an "Authoritative Source of Truth." In this framework,
the originating tool that owns the requirement should be the sole entity responsible for managing and approving any changes.

Moreover, beyond the principle itself, any changes to a requirement should be tied to a
formal change request process. Since our tools are integrated, they already provide a
seamless way to submit change requests directly from the modeling tool to the
source tool managing the requirement, ensuring both traceability and control.

For these reasons, we regret to inform you that enabling direct editing in the modeling tool is not a direction we can pursue at this time.
However, we are always open to discussing alternative approaches or hearing your ideas on how we might improve the current process.

Thank you again for your understanding, and we look forward to any further insights you may have.

    Regards,
    Suneeel...
