Update DOORS Email system to work with ESMTP / authentication / secured ports.

Corporate IT Security requirements demand that SMTP takes place on ports other than 25, and that authentication (username+password) is catered for. DOORS 9 cannot provide that, which potentially blocks all Email features. A DOORS Admin needs to configure SMTP in DOORS DB properties for use with ESMTP/authentication on non-standard ports, there is no interface for any settings beyond the most basic (and technically outdated) SMTP configuration. In organisations, where simple mail transfer on port 25 is deemed unacceptable for security reasons, DOORS Email features are blocked with no alternative mechanism to achieve meaningful notifications / password resets.

    Hmm, has someone solved this mail-sending-problem (i.e. by using a 'relay') or is there any work-around available?

    Right! Also in our organisation, the SMTP without password will be cut-off soon, means that about ~500 password-requests per year will not be processed automatically anymore and must be handled manually!

    Port 25 is closed for all users in our organization due to security risk. An alternative secured connection is needed for organizations with sensitive information.
