ERM Doors NG Module Baseline

Currently, IBM DOORS Next supports baselining at the component level, which includes all artifacts and modules within a component. However, there is no option to create a baseline for a specific module independently of the entire component. This creates limitations when users need to:

  • Track changes for a single module over time.

  • Compare different versions of a specific module without affecting other artifacts.

  • Manage approvals and reviews at a more granular level (e.g., per module).

I propose introducing the ability to create and manage baselines at the individual module level, similar to how baselines are managed in traditional DOORS (DOORS Classic). This would allow more flexibility in change control, impact analysis, and requirements governance.

We do not plan to support the option to baseline individual modules. This would require a complete redesign of the ERM application as well as GCM and reporting.
The recommended solution is to create modules, that need to be managed independently, in separate components.
