Improved Diagnostics and Messaging for Jira Integration Issues

Based on the current outcome of support ticket TS019721271, a need for improved integration with Jira and similar systems has been identified. In this case, the Jira task link was not displayed because RM did not initiate the linking request—this was due to the Jira project’s GC attribute not being enabled.

The issue was initially attributed to a combination of factors, including login failures, network routing issues, and the RM GUI not displaying the task data. The GUI message indicated that the task was already added, which further obscured the root cause.

This highlights two key areas for improvement:

  1. Clearer documentation around integration prerequisites (e.g., the need to enable the GC attribute).

  2. More informative response messages—for example:
“Although the link with Jira was established and the task was selected, the link request was not completed because the project property to enable GC was not enabled.”
