Compare configurations based on selected attributes only

Context: Some projects are built as a product line. We are using PureVariant to generate the document for a specific branch. 

Problem: By generating a new stream with PureVariant, the dates of all the artifacts are modified which means that the compare configuration will detect that all artifacts have been modified.

Goal of the idea: Propose a way to select some attributes that we want to compare, or at least some attributes to be excluded from the comparison. If it is too complex, at least a way to ignore the modified date.

Why it is useful ?: For projects using Product Line, the tool is currently difficult to use as they have to click on each artifact to check if it has really been modified or not.

How should it work ?: In the compare configuration tool, there is a drop down menu or a double list to select/unselect attributes to compare. In case it is too complex, there should be at least a checkbox to ignore the modified/creation date.

    Can you please explain why "the dates of all the artifacts are modified" if some artifacts are not really modified?
