Enable filtering and sorting by Link Validity status within modules

Currently in DOORS Next it is possible to display the Link Validity status by Links within module views. However, it is not possible to use this field as a filter or sorting criterion.

This limitation makes it difficult for users to:

  • Quickly identify which artifacts in a module have links that require validation.
  • Prioritize requirement and traceability reviews without leaving the module to use global views or reports.
  • Avoid manual workarounds such as visual scanning or go to Report Builder.

Business Value / Justification

  • Improves review efficiency within modules, which are the primary working area for analysts and testers.
  • Reduces dependency on external reporting (JRS) for a very common day-to-day task.
  • Strengthens traceability quality by making it easier to detect invalid or suspect links early.
  • Aligns link validity management with other artifact attributes, which can already be filtered and sorted in module views.

Proposed Functionality

  1. Allow the Link Validity Status by Link and Validity Summary fields to be selectable as filter criteria in module views.
  2. Enable ascending/descending sorting by these fields in module views.
  3. (Optional) Provide quick filter options in the module UI, for example:
  • Show only artifacts with Suspect links.
  • Show only artifacts with Invalid links.
