Increase or make configurable the 200-artifact selection limit for bulk operations in DOORS Next

Currently, DOORS Next limits the number of selectable artifacts to 200 during bulk operations such as bulk attribute modifications and copy/paste activities.

There is currently no advanced setting or server configuration available to increase this limitation.

IBM support suggested the following workarounds:

• Exporting artifacts to Excel, modifying attributes externally, and re-importing the data.
• Performing copy/paste operations by placing artifacts under a heading and copying the heading structure.

However, these workarounds are not practical for regular project usage because:

• Excel export/import is not intuitive,
• it is time-consuming,
• it introduces unnecessary operational overhead,
• and it increases the risk of unintended side effects or incorrect updates.

The heading-based workaround only partially addresses the issue and does not support all bulk operation scenarios.

For large projects, users frequently need to manage and modify requirement sets containing more than 200 artifacts efficiently.

Requested enhancement:

• Increase the selection limit significantly (for example 1000+), OR
• Allow administrators to configure the limit, OR
• Remove the hard limitation while managing performance through warnings or safeguards.

This enhancement would improve usability, reduce manual effort, and better support enterprise-scale requirements management activities.
