Technical Reviews in Doors Next Improvements

Technical reviews in Doors NEXT were created to simplify the process of reviewing and releasing requirements but at the moment, in the current implementation they just slow the process. The process of creating a Technical Review is time-consuming and could be improved/automated.

Ideas for improving Technical reviews in Doors Next ordered by importance for implementing:

1. The process of releasing the requirements should be automated based on the status from the Technical Reviews. (right now you after you complete a technical review you have to create a changeset and change the status of requirements manually) -e.g. this should be done if the review was performed in a changeset for example
2. Technical review process requires a baseline beforehand, this could be automatized as well
3. The User Interface is bugged and you can only access some of the features by clicking the grayed ribbon
4. In order to add multiple requirements to a review at the same time you have to export them in excel, copy one id, paste it in the filter box, then copy all and edit the box to add the rest; this is a tool bug, you can not add multiple id’s from the beginning.
5. You cannot add a view directly from a module that can be reviewed
6. You cannot filter in a module to see which requirements went through a Technical review.
7. You cannot see in a module the comments given to requirements in a Technical review(that would help understand the background of the requirement and make you see the “big picture” from a single spot)
8. You cannot filter in a technical review to search for a specific requirement, you have to manually scroll through them, also the artifact comments in technical review are not in the same order as the requirements on the left(that seems to be a bug also).
