DNG : possibility to change the shape of an artifact according to the status value of the workflow

- an artifact type can be set with a workflow

- in a module, you can display the artifact status value (and filter on this value)

- in some cases, it would be interesting to be able to associate a color or any other visual indicator (icon, strikethrough text ...) that would make it possible to unambiguously differentiate the state of an artefact : only display the artifact status value can be not enough

-  this visual indicator, not mandatory, would be configured in the workflow definition

    Update 2026 from the Jazz France user group

    Context : In IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG) within ERM, an artifact type can be associated with a workflow. In a module, users can:

    Display the artifact workflow status value in a column.

    Filter artifacts based on this status value.

    Currently, the status is shown mainly as a textual value.

    Problem : In many use cases, displaying only the textual status value is not sufficient to clearly and quickly distinguish the state of artifacts in a module. Users may have difficulty visually identifying, at a glance, which artifacts are, for example, “Approved”, “Draft”, “Rejected”, etc., especially in large modules.

    Impact :

    Reduced readability of modules with many artifacts.

    More time spent scanning and interpreting status columns.

    Increased risk of confusion or oversight during reviews or validation activities.

    Less effective usage of workflows, because their states are not clearly visible or intuitively differentiated.

    Could be the same as in EWM (icons associated to enumerated values)
