Deleted test cases are not tracked in a test plan

  • Current behavior:  In case a test case gets deleted and is associated within a test plan no information will be shown in the test plan that a test case was deleted (even the test plan history does not include the information that a test case was deleted).
  • Requested change: It is required that if a test case will be deleted and if the test
case is associated to a test plan that the deleted test case will be clearly marked as deleted. E.g., in the test cases list of the test plan by <TEST CASE NAME> (Deleted).

Furthermore, IBM could enhance the request in that way that a project property could be introduced in that way, that in case a test case gets deleted and is associated to a test plan that a new test plan version is created and the change is clearly documented in the history.

Test cases are independent from Test plans.
For example, the status of a test case can be set to Retired and therefore no longer be considered for execution without any changes to the associated test plans.
Removing the permission to delete test cases for most users might be the way to address your needs, and ask instead to set the status of the test cases to Retired.
