ETM: Test Suite sort/filter function based on test case [Name/attribute/feature]

Right now, in ETM there is no way to sort filter option for Test Cases from Test suite.

The need is to Identify test cases that need to be removed from one or more large test suites.

Because of the limitation, users more easily create a new test case rather than trying to maintain an already existing test case with same functionality which then drives bad behavior and unnecessary duplication of test cases for Test Suites

In the file image attached, a real use case is supplied. Reusable TC:6636 is included in 78 Test Suites which are part of 5 Test Plans. It was noted that TC:6636 was erroneously included in one or more Test Suites where the first of many was TS:2389. Now Identifying this TC6636 in TS:2389 and pulling it and repeating this operation over the remaining Test Suites is utterly impossible without future capability.

Therefore, the simple enhancement. Take the Test Case column view that is available within Test Plans that allows for easily sorting and filtering of Test Cases by Test Case Property (no limitation of which property, all are available). Then selection of filtered cases can be easily removed from Test Plan. This exact feature implemented in exactly the same way, with the full list of Test Case properties available for sorting and filtering should be available within Test Suites. Which would be then used to remove Test cases from Suites using existing capability. This would satisfy this RFE.

    Custom attribute and category column support in test case section of test suite

    You can add test case attributes and categories as columns in the test case section of a test suite to view, sort, and filter test cases by their attribute and category values. The test suite interface now supports custom attribute and category columns, allowing you to customize your view of test cases based on the attributes and categories most relevant to your work. Both project-specific test case attributes and categories, as well as global attributes and categories, are available as column options. Attribute and category columns provide the following capabilities:

    • Display attribute and category values for each test case in the list

    • Sort test cases by attribute or category values in ascending or descending order

    • Filter test cases using one or multiple attribute or category columns
