Integrated Provisioning and Data Export Configuration for Partner Scalability

The Idea:

This is a proposal for an enhancement to the IBM Envizi platform that integrates data export configuration directly into the initial client provisioning workflow. This would enable the setup of data services for downstream systems, such as client-specific databases and third-party applications, to occur concurrently with the creation of a new client instance rather than as a separate, post-provisioning task. To support large-scale partner operations, the functionality would permit a single, consistent username and SSH public key to be used for the data service across all client instances managed within a partner's environment. Data integrity and security would be preserved by automatically assigning each client instance a unique root folder for its specific data exports.

The Provided Benefit if Incorporated:

Incorporating this feature into the platform would provide significant benefits to all Envizi partners by increasing operational efficiency and scalability. Automating the data export setup during provisioning would drastically reduce the time and manual effort required to fully onboard a new client. For partners managing large client portfolios, the ability to use a standardized data service configuration simplifies administration and reduces complexity, allowing them to scale their operations more effectively. This streamlined process facilitates faster, more reliable integrations with downstream systems and establishes an organized and secure data structure from the outset, ultimately empowering partners to deliver a more seamless and robust service.

    Hi Jake,

Thank you for raising this. We agree this has merit, particularly for partners operating across multiple client environments.

A more scalable approach to data export provisioning, including shared or inherited endpoints, is not something we support today, but it aligns with broader discussions we’re having around partner reporting and multi‑client data access. This area is under active review as part of our wider product roadmap, with data security and client isolation being key considerations.

While we can’t commit to timelines or delivery at this stage, we appreciate the input and have captured this as an important future consideration. We’ll keep you informed as this area evolves.
