Add User Access Roles to align System Administrator permissions with Segregation of Duties guidance per Compliance

A single role containing all System Administrator permissions is too vast for large-scale clients. Larger clients tend to have separate departments / teams responsible for specific functions to ensure SOC1 / SOC2 / IRAP segregation of duties are enforced.

Examples of Segregation of Duties includes, but may vary slightly, the following:

Technical Teams:

  • Server Team: Admin>Configuration (SSO setup; Connector; Password Policies; API setup)

  • Support Team: Manage>Contacts & Logins>Create New User; Modify Existing User; Assign Group(s)

Sustainability Teams:

  • ESG UX Team: Admin>Configuration (Data Management Preferences; Reporting and Dashboard Preferences)

  • ESG Reporting Team: Admin>Issue Tracking>Issue Settings; Admin>Setup>Account Style Management

Thank you for raising this enhancement request. In the past we have dealt with requests for more granular permissions by adding new access roles or work roles. However, we are considering whether a more flexible solution can be found allowing partners and clients to define and manage their own user permissions. This would be a change to the core access control procedures and hence would require extensive discovery work to confirm technical feasibility before any commitments are made. Our team will reach out directly to discuss a possible path forward.
