Enable Group-Level Filtering for Programs Module in Power Reports

Current Issue:

The Programs Overview PowerReport and custom programs-related Power Reports lack the ability to filter data by Classification and Portfolio Groups, despite the inherent hierarchical relationship between programs and groups. Since program actions must be assigned to locations, which in turn are assigned to classification groups (and often portfolio groups), this filtering capability should function seamlessly. Currently, the group table has no direct relationship to programs data in the dataset, preventing users from applying group-level filters to analyze program performance by organizational structure.

Proposed Solution:

Establish a relationship between the group table and programs data within the Power Reports dataset, enabling group-level filtering functionality across all programs-related reports. This would allow users to filter program data by classification groups without requiring workarounds, report modifications, or specialized permissions. An alternative solution would be to add group level information in the programs related tables for the PowerReports so filters can be applied in the reports.

Business Value:

This enhancement would benefit all clients utilizing the Programs module by providing essential organizational visibility into program performance. The ability to analyze programs by group structure is fundamental for multi-location organizations managing sustainability initiatives across different business units, regions, or portfolios. This is not a client-specific customization but rather core functionality that aligns with standard organizational reporting needs.
