Enable integration between Sustainability Reporting Manager (SRM) and custom Power Reports. Merged

Allow SRM to link and display user-created custom Power Reports, not only the predefined default Power Reports.
Currently, SRM can integrate with and display only a limited set of predefined default Power Reports. Custom Power Reports created by customers cannot be linked to SRM.

This limitation reduces the usefulness of the SRM–Power Report integration because many organizations rely on custom Power Reports tailored to their specific reporting requirements, KPIs, and disclosure needs. In practice, customers often use custom reports rather than the standard reports provided out of the box.

We would like SRM to support integration with custom Power Reports in the same way that it supports the predefined reports. This would allow organizations to incorporate their own reporting content directly into disclosure and reporting workflows within SRM.

Benefits include:

  • Greater flexibility to support organization-specific reporting requirements.

  • Improved efficiency by allowing customers to reuse existing custom Power Reports within SRM.

  • Better alignment between reporting outputs and disclosure workflows.

  • Increased adoption of both SRM and Power Reports by enabling customers to leverage reports they already use.

Hi @Guest ! Thanks for your submission. To understand the request better, may I ask if your preference is to have the custom report to show (a) in the Envizi Guidance section of the SRM response, or (b) in the side panel as an embedded PowerBI report?

Currently, we have the Envizi Guidance section for our managed frameworks where we provide additional instructions to help you find ESG data that may be relevant to a particular question. For example, questions in TCFD or SASB may have an guidance on sourcing relevant data from PowerReport templates like Sustainability Executive Report or Scope 3 PowerReport. We are only supporting this feature in our managed frameworks, however.

On the other hand, we also have embedded PowerBI on the Calculated Metrics side panel of the response page. This leverages the monthly data set which you can use to screen to find the data relevant to the question. This report can also be edited and all edits to the report persist so other users, such as contributors, reviewers, or approvers, can view the same report and dataset. For more info, see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/envizi-esg-suite?topic=rq-importing-calculated-metrics-from-embedded-power-bi-reports

While both allow users to query data from the core platform, they have a few differences. Existing PowerReports linked through the Envizi Guidance are launched in a way that interrupts the SRM response page. This means that the PowerReport have to be dismissed after you copy the information you need. As mentioned, this is only available now for managed frameworks. On the other hand, the embedded PowerBI can be used without interrupting the SRM response page, so you can simultaneously use it on the side panel while putting together the response in the main panel. Given the different layout and size of the report, this however, does not allow reusing user-created custom PowerReports.

Understanding your preference will help us better understand the need and see potential directions forward. If it helps, I am also happy to hop on a quick call to discuss. Please let me know what you prefer, thanks!
