Enhance audit logs and maintain record identity for improved traceability

Problem:
Audit logs within Envizi do not currently provide a clear comparison between original and updated values when records are edited, and records can lose their identity when key fields (such as dates) are modified. This makes it difficult to track changes over time, understand what updates were made, and reconcile records throughout their lifecycle. The lack of both value change visibility and persistent record identity reduces transparency and creates challenges for auditing and data validation.

Why it is beneficial:
Enhancing audit logs to display explicit value changes (e.g., “100 → 120”) while introducing an auto-generated unique ID that persists regardless of edits would significantly improve traceability and data integrity. This would allow users to track both the evolution and identity of each record, support audit requirements, and provide a clear, reliable history of changes. Together, these improvements would strengthen governance, increase user confidence in the data, and streamline audit and reconciliation processes.
