This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Currently, when energy data is stored in Envizi as kWh, if the annual energy amount is uploaded to GRESB via API Sync, it is not exported directly as kWh. Instead, the converted amount in GJ is then converted back to kWh (i.e., GJ / 0.0036 = kWh). This results in a small but substantial loss of precision.
Since GRESB requires that energy data be imported in kWh, I would suggest a modification to the upload logic whereby energy is only converted if it is not already stored in kWh. The current double-conversion results in discrepancies between the annual amount in Envizi and its counterpart in GRESB. While small individually, there is a potential cumulative effect that could possibly impact overall portfolio score.

Thanks for raising the enhancement request and provide the context in detail.
In general all energy units in Envizi are converted to GJ first should it be required for further aggregated reporting in another unit. This is a general behaviour core to Envizi and is not exclusive to GRESB reporting.
Unit conversions are done using conversion factors with 8 decimal places to preserve highest precision as possible. In this case it happens that both the original data unit and reporting unit are the same (kWh), but in cases when the units differ, the conversion precision rounding would be inevitable.
The unit conversion is core to the Envizi reporting engine and we don't have a plan to alter this in the future.
