Update to latest AR6 Emissions Factors per GHG Protocol guidance

Please update the emissions factors used for refrigerants to calculate Scope 1 with the latest IPCC Global Warming Potential Values. AR6 values were released in 2022, why has Envizi not switched from AR4 to AR6 values? Our third-party auditor continues to point out this issue to us as an area for improving the accuracy of our emissions reporting.

Hi Kayla -- please see the attached guidance on Envizi's approach to GWP values for the various factor sets. Essentially for each factor source we use the GWP values indicated by the various agencies. For US EPA the guidance has only just (Jan 2025) updated to use AR5 GWP values. For refrigerants and synthetic gases it is possible to override the default GWP values to use AR6 by selecting the AR6 factor set. This will apply AR6 GWP for refrigerants and synthetic gases to all of your data (including historical data). If you wish to adopt that approach please ask support to update your factor set assignments.
