Add Ability to Change Accrual Method (Event/Contiguous) on Individual Accounts

Currently, the Accrual Method (Event/Contiguous) is set for any given account style, and all accounts of that style will use the same accrual method.  Occasionally, it may be necessary or optimal to override this, for a specific account.  Please add a field to the Create/Edit Account window.

Accrual Method

  • Default (uses the accrual method set for the Account Style) *
  • Contiguous
  • Event

* This option is selected, by default, for any new accounts.

Having this field will allow a user to override the typical behaviour for the account style on an individual account, without altering the method used for other accounts of the same style.

    I discussed this internally with other product team members and unfortunately configuring this at the account level would require a significant rework of many of the core systems within the platform and is not currently able to be provided as a solution.


    We will consider this for a future update.

    Respectfully, this is not the functionality I am requesting.  I am aware that the functionality already exists allowing changes to the accrual method at the account style level.  

    I am asking specifically for the ability to modify this trait at the level of individual accounts, which would be new functionality.  In other words, it would provide the ability to have accounts with multiple accrual methodologies, within the same account style.

    The accrual method can be configured at the account style level. Once an account style with the alternate accrual method has been created, the relevant account style can be selected when the account is created, providing the functionality required.
