PowerBI Improvement: individual measures

For a specific powerBI report we have a table of all the KPIs in a specific portfolio group, and we have calculated variance for each of those KPIs. We have a colour coding for this variance that has to be applied across the whole page but some KPIs are exceptions that need an alternative colour coding (e.g. all H&S KPIs an increase would be red but a decrease would be green but an increase in training hours would be green for example). We need to be able to tailor the KPIs' colour coding.

A dax measure can be created in PowerReport Developer which returns a hex colour code. If it is written correctly, it can return different colours for different KPI's determined by the formula.

This colour can be used in the conditional formatting section of any visual by selecting "Field Value" in the formatting window. Please note that if there are many KPI's, then this could affect performance.

Alternatively, if two different variance fields are created, they can each have their own colour coding.
