Enhance the Maximo for Aviation Weight and Balance (W&B) capabilities to support lateral W&B.

  1. In the aviation sector, when maintaining aircraft, it is a regulatory requirement to record and validate any changes relating to the aircraft weight and balance as a result of maintenance activities, for example replacing assets and carrying out repairs. The current capabilities of MfA only allow the longitudinal weight and balance to be recorded, not the lateral weight and balance - this is particularly required for the defence sector.

  2. The enhancement details are as follows

    1. Weight & Balance - enhancement to allow for lateral W&B recording / validation and enhance existing capability to support automated W&B changes based on predefined weight and positions, including:

      1. Moment to be associated with a Build Position in Model.

      2. Datum point to be defined in Model

      3. Weight to be associated with a CM Item (Part) and applied to associated assets.

      4. W&B tolerances to be configurable per Model

      5. Validation calculation to be automated and include both long and lat points based on predefined weights and positions.
