This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I am currently leading a Go-To-Market (GTM) campaign for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, where I am engaging with clients to implement MAS for their shop floor tools and assets. The goal is to track key metrics such as Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), energy consumption, water usage, and emissions to help meet their OEE & ESG goals.
Most semiconductor clients use tools that communicate via SEMI industry-standard protocols such as SECS (SEMI Equipment Communications Standard), HSMS (High-Speed Messaging Service), and GEM (General Equipment Model). However, currently these protocols are not yet supported in the MAS Monitor device library of existing protocols, which has become a significant roadblock for advancing discussions and conducting proof of concepts (POCs) by connecting their tools for data collection and dashboard creation.
Additionally, we need the capability to handle Equipment Constant (EC) IDs and Status Variable (SV) IDs, which are integral to manufacturing communications for equipment constants and variables. Given this, it is crucial that we prioritize building and integrating these protocols into the MAS Monitor EDC library.

Hi Surya,
We have an initial finding and recommendation that will allow you to connect SECS/GEM equipment to Monitor without the use of EDC.
The GEM/SECS protocols are designed to have multiple devices connected to a local host server acting like a controller or a hub (or possibly a gateway). Therefore, the most straight forward way to access the data from such an architecture would be to integrate the host server of such networks to Monitor via API or MQTT.
This is already supported by Monitor, but it would require some custom dev effort on the SECS/GEM host machine to push data to our APIs or MQTT Broker. This is a standard approach for connecting custom devices. We provide SDKs and templates to help with this and our IBMC, or Expert Labs teams are able to assist your customer. (see the documentation on it here)
Hello Team - Its been almost a month and there is no feedback yet for this high priority requirement.
Can someone please review and respond at the earliest!!
