Historical Health Score Back-Scoring and Validation

Business Need

Today, Health Scores are calculated using the current state of asset contributors and available data. While score history is retained in the Maximo DB, there is no supported capability to retrospectively calculate what a Health Score would have been at a specific point in time based on historical contributor values.

As part of their evaluation process, customers would like to:

• Replay Health Scores over a historical period (for example, the previous 12 months).
• Reconstruct scores using historical meter readings, work order history, and other configured contributors as they existed at the time.
• Compare the resulting score evolution against known failures or maintenance events.
• Demonstrate to internal stakeholders and steering committees that the Health Score would have deteriorated prior to actual failures.

This capability would provide tangible evidence of the predictive value of Health and significantly strengthen customer adoption decisions.

Current Limitation

Currently:

• "Calculate Scores" only evaluates assets based on the current state of the database.
• The Maximo DB stores previously calculated scores but does not allow retrospective recalculation using historical contributor values.
• Customers cannot natively perform historical back-testing or model validation exercises.
• The only known workaround is to rebuild historical scores externally through custom scripts and API-based data injection, which is suitable for demonstrations but is not a scalable or supported customer solution.

Requested Enhancement

Provide a supported capability to perform historical Health Score back-scoring, allowing customers to:

• Select a historical time range.
• Recalculate Health Scores using historical contributor data available in Maximo.
• Visualize score evolution over time.
• Validate whether Health Scores would have identified degrading asset conditions before actual failures occurred.

Potential implementation options could include:

• Native Health "Back-Scoring" functionality.
• Historical Health simulation or replay mode.
• Integration with Predict analytics/notebooks for retrospective score calculation.
• API support for historical score reconstruction.
