Drive Reliability Strategies mitigation activity parameters from asset and location criticality, duty cycle, and operating condition

IBM MAS Manage Reliability Strategies should support assignment of criticality, duty cycle, and operating condition values to assets and locations, and should allow mitigation activity parameters such as frequency, action type, and recurrence to vary by the resulting combination of those values, so a single strategy can cover multiple operating scenarios.

Requesting company operates generation assets where identical equipment is maintained at different intervals depending on criticality, duty cycle, and operating condition. A pump in critical, high-duty, severe service needs a very different interval than an identical pump in non-critical, low-duty, mild service. Today a strategy carries a single set of mitigation activity parameters, and operating context exists only as descriptive information that cannot be assigned to an asset or location. To reflect these differences, a separate strategy must be created, reviewed, and revised for every combination, even though the functions, failure modes, and actions are the same and only the parameters change. Any change to a failure mode or action must then be repeated across every copy.
