Install vulnerability fixes only

Currently fixpacks include all kinds of fixes and new functionality. Applying those takes a lot of time (installing, testing, etc.). We need a minimum of 2 weeks to apply the patch.

We have strict deadlines for fixing/mitigating vulnerabilities. Critical vulnerabities must be fixed within 5 days after they are reported. With the current patch cycle and policy of MAS we can't meet this requirement.

We would like IBM to provide fixes for vulnerabilities only, not including other fixes and new functionality. The fix cycle should also be higher then once a month.

    Hi,

    Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. Unfortunately, after evaluating this idea, we don’t believe it aligns with our product strategy and roadmap. Therefore, we will not be considering it for inclusion in our product at this time. Thank you again for your feedback.

    Thank you for your idea

    With consideration of our long support cycles (3+1+3) for every release, meaning a high number of concurrently supported releases, the significant maintenance overhead of trying to separate vulnerability fixes from other fixes is just not feasible.

    We do have an emergency fix process in our delivery model to address critical vulnerabilities in shorter timeframes. This is used at IBM's discretion when we believe our normal 30day update window is not sufficient.

    I am happy to engage more directly on patching cadence but we are not in a position to act on this specific idea at this time.
