Decouple “Find a colleague” functionality from the booking flow

This improvement aims to separate the “find a colleague” functionality from the workspace reservation process, making it independently accessible and easier to use.

Currently, users must initiate a booking flow in order to locate a colleague, which adds unnecessary steps and friction. This is especially inefficient for employees who simply want to check where someone is sitting without making a reservation.

This enhancement would benefit all end users in hybrid workplace environments, particularly employees who frequently need to locate teammates for collaboration, as well as facilities teams monitoring space usage.

The solution should make the “find a colleague” feature available as a standalone function, accessible directly from the main interface or floor plan view without requiring a booking action. Users should be able to search for a colleague and immediately see their assigned or reserved workspace on the map, with appropriate permissions applied.

    Hi Miriam. Thank you for taking the time to submit this idea. This functionality already existing within Locate which is part of the Workplace Services App. Users can use the Locate function to search for a college and see where they have reserved workspaces or assigned workspaces.
