We are auditing our Security groups. Why is that difficult? Why do I need to run a report to see what is in a security group? Why has no one suggested this be improved?
If I want to 'authorize group reassignments' for a Security group, you view a list of current users and you can add a "new row" for each new user or quickly delete them.
If I want to view the "users" for a certain security group, you view a list of current users where you can add a "new row" to add users. and again, you can quickly delete them.
Why, on EARTH, when Maximo was designed, did they NOT use that SAME method for Security groups APPLICATION rights???
When viewing the Applications of a particular security group, we have 214 applications listed. None are highlighted to say "Selected" or not selected. To figure out which ones are actually assigned you need to literally open up/ expand EVERY SINGLE application, just to see if it was assigned rights or not.
WHY? I was just working with a senior Maximo Engineer, and he says, "It's always been like this and he is used to it". But why? Due to how the pricing of Maximo is in MAS, we need to audit every user and every security group. This task is tedious because of this issue. I should NOT have to run reports, to see what is assigned to a Security group. (Don't worry, we have those reports. Nothing beats reviewing a spreadsheet to audit security groups!)
It just astounds me that at no point someone has suggested this improvement? Imagine a world, where I opened up a security group and the "Applications" tab, just showed the Applications that were configured for it. And I could just "Add new row", like literally every other field in maximo currently, and add a new application or remove an application.
Is this done on purpose to keep Admins from easily managing Security groups? Why would this be the only screen that doesn't work like every other screen?
